As the museum ascends to the Kilus Lake, visitors will be greeted by a unique panorama of the landscape – a vast forest, sparkling expanses and a peaceful hilly landscape, the view of which is simply breathtaking. During the tour, you will be accompanied by an experienced tour guide, whose stories bring the landscape to life – the visible objects, the history of the surrounding areas, and natural and cultural highlights are presented in detail. This is not only a physical ascent to the height, but also a journey through time and the worldview of the nation.
One of the most striking highlights of the tours is the opportunity to see the calendar stone circle “Lithuanian Sun” from a bird’s eye view. This is an impressive stone disk with a diameter of 30 meters with eight rays, symbolizing the countries of the world and the directions of the Sun’s rise and set during the equinoxes and solstices.
The large stones were brought to this circle from all counties of Lithuania, thus signifying the symbolic participation of the entire country in this cosmic composition.
Next to the stone “Sun”, models of the planets of our Solar System are also placed, forming a single educational picture in which the mythology of the Earth, astronomy and the flow of nature meet. This is a unique place, a great place to immerse yourself in the human connection with the Universe – both through cultural roots and through the modern scientific gaze.
